Om Prakash, the prime accused in the Moddu Seenu murder case, late on Friday, entered into an argument with jail authorities, alleging their negligence at providing him treatment.
The accused was being shifted to hospital for treatment of his kidney problems, when he entered into the argument with the jailer Ranga Rao and the Jail Deputy Superintendent.
Om Prakash reportedly threatened and pushed the jail authorities, but this has not been not confirmed. He was angry at the alleged negligence of the jail authorities to send him for treatment regularly for his kidney ailment.
Om Prakash was arrested for killing the main accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case, Moddu Seenu, with a dumbbell, in Anantapur district jail on 9 November 2008.
The barbarity of that killing displayed the sadistic streak of Om Prakash, who had not only battered Seenu's head with the dumbbells but also gouged out his eyes with an iron rod and cut his ears off.
The incident led to accusations that the killing was politically motivated, with the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) alleging a conspiracy by the Congress government to eliminate evidence in Paritala Ravi's case to shield former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and senior leader J C Diwakar Reddy.
