Janagama MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy responded to the allegations made by the District Collector Sri Devasena that he had encroached a tank and built a compound wall around it, and said that he was ready for any punishment if he was found guilty.
Muthireddy met the Chief Secretary at Secretariat on Wednesday and lodged a complaint against the Collector.
Speaking to the media later, Muthireddy said he was ready to face punishment if he was found guilty. He asked the government to initiate action against him as per the policy enunciated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao himself that he would not pardon anyone found guilty, even his own son or daughter.
Muthireddy said that the government had cancelled the registration done on his name as he was working as a temple trust chairman as an MLA. He asked the CS to conduct a thorough inquiry into the issue to find out the facts.
He said that the government had allotted Rs. 1.40 crores for the development of the tank, which he had used for just that purpose. Ministers T Harish Rao and Etela Rajender had even praised the works of tank development. Not a single cent of land had been registered on his name, and there was no corruption in the developmental works, he asserted.
