Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao said that his government would launch a stir against the union government's "conspiracy" to privatise the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Giving a reply to BRS MLA Balka Suman during the Question Hour in the Assembly, Rao alleged that the Centre had hatched a conspiracy to privatise the Singareni Collieries, and as part of its action plan, was trying to make the SCCL a sick unit so as to be able to hand it over to private persons.
"But the State government has a 51% stake in the Collieries. We will definitely obstruct the conspiracy of the union government, and will launch a stir in a big way with the help of its employees," KTR said.
The minister also claimed that the State government had requested the Centre on several occasions to allocate four coal blocks to the SCCL, and that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. But the Centre hadn't considered the State government's plea, and directed the SCCL to participate in an open auction. This was nothing but the union government's discrimination against Telangana, KTR said.
