BRS working president and Telangana minister K T Rama Rao narrowly avoided a tragedy today during his election campaign in Armoor of Nizamabad district.
He escaped unhurt after tumbling off the roof of a campaign vehicle he was travelling atop while campaigning for the party in Armoor.
The incident occured when the vehicle driver applied brakes suddenly, and the railing fixed atop the vehicle gave way, throwing the minister and the others flanking him off balance.
K T Rama Rao's gunman, who was standing behind him, managed to catch hold of him and prevent him from falling off the vehicle. Armoor candidate Jeevan Reddy however did fall off the vehicle, and was given first-aid and is said to be fine.
Rao continued with his campaign and left for another roadshow in Kodangal. The minister's office later said that he did not suffer any injuries and that he was perfectly fine.
