Accusing the Congress MLAs from Telangana of 'not being up to the mark' in the struggle for a separate state, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) Convenor Kodandaram on Thursday released the calendar for the next phase of agitations to press the Centre to give in to the demand of a separate state.
Talking to mediapersons after emerging out of a crucial JAC meeting, Prof. Kodandaram opined that the Telangana Congress MLAs should follow the example of their party MPs, who have been raising the issue vociferously in the Parliament.
He said that the committee members will block the movement of elected representatives in the region until the formation of a separate state.
He revealed that the JAC will organize rallies at district, division, and mandal levels in Telangana region on February 25th and 26th, expressing solidarity with the non-cooperation agitation of the government employees.
Besides this, the committee will also organize 'Rail Roko' protests, demanding introduction of the Telangana bill in the Parliament. Prof. Kodandaram said the dates for Rail Roko agitation will be announced on Friday.
He further revealed that the JAC will conduct awareness campaigns at district, divisional, and mandal level on February 27th. At the awareness campaigns, people will be briefed on the elected representatives' indifferent attitude towards Telangana agitation in the Assembly.
Prof. Kodandaram also charged that the attitude of the MLAs has obstructed Telangana state formation.
He said that the JAC members will burn the effigies of Telangana Congress MLAs on February 28th, protesting their lack of support in the struggle for a separate Telangana.
