BJP Telangana president Dr K Laxman today responded to the speculation over the change of the Chief Minister of the State.
Addressing the media along with senior party leaders at the State BJP headquarters, Laxman predicted that after the municipal elections, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would hand over charge to his son K T Rama Rao, currently the IT and Municipal Administration Minister.
Laxman said that it would be a case of if not now then never in the near future for KCR to elevate his heir apparent to king. He said that KCR didn't want to commit the same mistake as Congress president Sonia Gandhi did with her son Rahul Gandhi. Yes, rather cryptic.
Laxman also made a litany of accusations against the CM. He alleged that there was a conspiracy by the Election Commission and the TRS government behind the early elections to the municipalities and municipal corporations. He also claimed that the Chief Minister had appointed Somesh Kumar as Chief Secretary for political benefits and selfish reasons, and asked the Chief Minister how Somesh Kumar was appointed superseding several senior IAS officers in total violation of the Constitution.
The BJP leader also said that KCR had turned Telangana into the most debt-ridden State in the country, was delaying pensions for the weaker sections, and had totally reneged on his election promise of 1 lakhs government jobs for the unemployed.
