KCR, Modi Match-Fixing On Muslim Quota: Congress
The TRS was appearing as a champion of the Muslims, and the BJP as one of the Hindus, but the Muslims gained nothing, Shabbir Ali said.

Leader Of Opposition in the Telangana Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today termed the alleged fallout between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Muslim quota issue as part of a "grand design" by the TRS and the BJP, where each party attained its desired goals - the TRS appearing as a champion of the Muslims, and the BJP as one of the Hindus - but the Muslims gained nothing.
Addressing the media at Kamareddy today, Shabbir Ali said that it would be disastrous if the states and their Assemblies were allowed to meddle with minority issues. The Parliament and the Constitution alone should be rested with duty of safeguarding the rights and privileges of the minorities, he opined.
Shabbir Ali was also very critical of the "unofficial disclosures" by the CMO instead of an official press release or a press conference by K Chandrashekar Rao himself, on the assurances apparently made by the Centre. He said that the "news leaks" resorted to had once again exposed the lack of sincerity on the part of the TRS on various issues important to the people of Telangana like the Muslim quota, the High Court bifurcation, national status for the Kaleswaram project, increase of seats in Telangana Assembly and getting ownership of Parade Grounds for building a new secretariat complex. These issues should not be dealt with in such a callous manner, he said.
It may also be recalled that the PMO and the Prime Minister had cancelled an appointment to Telangana CM last month quoting UP elections, and had also refused to meet a delegation of the Telangana Opposition parties which wanted to raise the need for categorisation of the SCs.
