Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao called on Governor E S L Narasimhan at the Raj Bhavan on Sunday to brief him about the decisions taken by the State Cabinet recently.
Besides discussing the preparations for the budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly beginning on November 5, the Chief Minister reportedly informed the Governor of the Telangana government's decision to move Supreme Court against Andhra Pradesh over the dispute over the sharing of power between the two States.
He also urged the Governor to intervene to ensure that Telangana got its due share of power from projects located in Andhra Pradesh, as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
KCR reportedly complained to the Governor that the AP Chief Minister was creating hurdles for Telangana, and causing a power crisis in the new State.
He also informed the Governor of the decision taken during the meeting of the Irrigation Department held earlier in the day.
He said that Telangana was being denied its due share in the Srisailam, Krishnapatnam and Sileru projects as per the AP Reorganisation Act.
According to sources, the Governor advised KCR to find an amicable solution to the ongoing controversies, and also assured that he would speak to Chandrababu Naidu on the issue. (INN)
