Justice Alok Aradhe today took oath as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
Justice Aradhe was administered the oath of office by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at the Raj Bhavan.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, some ministers and MLAs, Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, High Court judges, and some senior officials including Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP Anjani Kumar and others were present.
Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, who till recently served as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, was promoted as a Supreme Court judge, and Justice Alok Aradhe came to Telangana in his place.
Since the establishment of Telangana High Court on January 1, 2019, five persons - Justice Radhakrishnan, Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan, Justice Hima Kohli, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan - have served as CJs. Justice Alok Aradhe is the sixth Chief Justice of the High Court.
Among the CJs of the State, Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan went on to become Supreme Court judges.
