DC & CSK In IPL Betting Scam

According to the Hyderabad Commissioner, heavy betting was carried out over the IPL-3 semi-finals
Hyderabad | 23rd April 2010
According to news channel NTV, Hyderabad Commissioner A K Khan has disclosed that heavy betting was carried out over the IPL-3 semi-finals between Deccan Chargers and Chennai Super Kings. The culprits could not be caught because of the online nature of the betting, he explained. He also said that the IP addresses would come in handy while investigating those involved in the betting.

Khan said that many police investigations teams have been set up now, and that measures will be taken to curb the betting. He also said that the teams had found out how betting can be carried out through mobiles.

Also, yesterday's I-T raid at the Deccan Chargers' offices yielded nothing of consequence, he confirmed.

Damning allegations of betting and match-fixing are gradually being confirmed. The I-T department, today, said in the open that the T20 matches in IPL-2 (held in South Africa) were indeed fixed, and that 27 cricketers held a key role in them.

In a report submitted to the Finance Ministry, income tax officials also discussed allegations of betting involving IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi. Modi has vehemently rubbished all the allegations. Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly, however, were a given clean chit by the I-T officials.

The Knight Riders and the Kings XI Punjab offices came under scrutiny today.

Meanwhile, following a strong demand from the Opposition to set up a Joint Parliamentary Comittee to probe the IPL controversy, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, along with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, held a meeting with the core Congress group today evening, deliberating over the demand.

what kind of rubbish news is this... there are 80 indian cricketers and 40 foreign cricketers. There is no way match fixing can happen. Think logically, before you sensationalize news..

Sure, there is a definite possibility of betting. Both Gilchrist and Dhoni are dishonest. The way they conducted themselves and the behaviour and the pattern of team selection reveals the sinister design.
See the honest people Tendulkar or Ganguly they conducted themselves decently. I call for banning Dhoni from International Cricket like Azza.
