Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday announced a slew of sops for Mahbubnagar on the completion of one year in office.
Participating in the Rachabanda program held at Shadnagar, he stated that the government would take steps towards providing interest-free loans for women from 1 January 2012.
He said that Rs. 10,000 crore has been allotted for sanctioning loans to women.
He said that loans worth upto Rs. 5 lakh would be sanctioned for members of women self-help groups, and would be deposited directly into their accounts, not giving scope to middlemen.;
Reddy also announced that the government would also waive off the interest on all loans taken by Development Of Women And Children In Rural Areas (DWCRA) groups if they repay their instalments on time.
He also assured that the government would establish model schools in 64 mandals in the district, along with junior colleges.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government is making efforts to provide 50,000 jobs for unemployed youth in a span of 3 years in the district.
He also reiterated his claim of providing 15 lakh jobs to unemployed youth within 3 years.
Responding to the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, he said that a committee has been appointed under the chairmanship of a Cabinet minister, to explore the issue. (INN)
