As many as 75,091 students, or 7.26% of a total of 10,33,588 candidates, abstained from the first year Intermediate Public Examination that began across the state on Wednesday.
The candidates appeared for Telugu Paper I, Sanskrit Paper I, Hindi Paper I, Urdu Paper I and Arabic Paper I.
A total of 21 cases of malpractice were also booked across AP.
The Board Of Intermediate Education sent observers to Nalgonda, Medak and Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad and Mahaboobnagar districts.

Meanwhile, in an unfortunate incident, a first-year Inter student committed suicide by hanging, at Sangupeta (Andole mandal, Medak district), on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased, 16-year-old Sai Kumar, was reportedly denied a hall-ticket by his college for his first-year Intermediate examinations. The police have registered a case, and began investigations. (INN)
