Hyderabad RPO Among Top Five Nationally In Passport Issuance
The RPO has surpassed its previous records, issuing 7,85,485 passports in 2023 (till date), compared to 6,43,157 in 2022 and 4,28,246 in 2021.

The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Hyderabad stands fifth in the country this year in terms of the number of passports issued.
The RPO, working under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has surpassed its previous records, issuing 7,85,485 passports in 2023 (till date), compared to 6,43,157 in 2022 and 4,28,246 in 2021.
(As of November 2023, India has collectively issued more than 1.5 crore passports and passport-related travel documents across all regions this year.)
The RPO (including the five Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) and 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Telangana) on an average processes around 4,000 applications every day, and has processed around 8.11 lakh applications this year, including services for passport issuance, Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) and so on. To cater to the growing demand for passport services in the region, the RPO initiated special drives on Saturdays throughout the year.
