HC Lifts Stay On Ayesha Meera Trial

The High Court had earlier ordered a stay on the proceedings in response to a petition from the counsel of the accused.
Hyderabad | 23rd June 2010
The interim stay orders on the ongoing trial of the main accused in the sensational Ayesha Meera rape-cum-murder case, Satyam Babu, were lifted by the AP High Court on Wednesday.

The High Court had, on June 10, ordered an interim stay on the trial proceedings of Satyam Babu in response to a petition filed by his counsel Bojja Tarakam, who cited the accused's illness.

Wednesday's directive came after a police petition before the High Court pleaded that the trial can go on.
