The East Zone Team of the Commissioner's Task Force has unearthed a fake visa racket by arresting the owner of a travel agency.
According to Additional DCP (Task Force) P Rameshaiah, the East Zone team, which was led by inspector A Sudhakar, conducted a raid on Hasnin Tours & Travels located in Taj complex at Nampally on Saturday. The team arrested the agency's owner, 52-year-old M Naga Bhushanam.
The police also seized 24 passports, fake and forged visas, sponsors' declarations, affidavits and invitation letters, one laptop, two CPUs, one computer and one colour printer from the premises.
According to the police, Naga Bhushanam would prepare fake and forged visas and other documents for obtaining air tickets for people to go to Dubai or the Sultanate of Oman. He used to collect Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 from each customer for the process. Nagabhushanam was earlier involved in a forgery case.
The arrested accused, along with the seized material, was handed over to the Abids Police Station on Sunday for further action. (INN)
