The popular Gokul Chat in the Koti area was closed by officials as its owner tested positive for the coronavirus.
According to the information received, the owner experienced symptoms of Covid, and upon being tested by health officials, was found infected.
The chat shop was immediately closed and its 20 workers referred to health check-ups.
Officials are now keen to identify all the people who visited the shop over the past few days. That might be a Herculean task as hundreds of people ate there after the shop restarted on June 8 after the lockdown relaxation.
The total Covid cases in Telangana on Monday were put at 5,193, with 219 fresh cases on the day.
