GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar has directed the Zonal Commissioners to identify the locations for setting up multi-skilled training centres and to submit the proposals / estimates including the list of training programmes by 18th January.
The Commissioner along with Navin Mittal, Special Commissioner and D. Jayaraj Kennedy, Additional Commissioner (UCD) held a meeting with regard to the action plan for strengthening UCD activities.
He directed the Zonal Commissioners to work towards creating a livelihood cell in each zone, where skill development and self employment can be provided for the youth, and to mobilize 1000 unemployed youth per circle for imparting training in the skill development programme.
Somesh Kumar directed the Additional Commissioner (UCD) to constitute 100 teams in order to conduct a survey on Monday night (20th January from 8pm to 12 mid night) to identify locations where people are sleeping without a roof, and to identify the nearest open space or building to such locations in order to construct night shelters.
The Commissioner directed the Additional Commissioner (UCD) to organize half day training programme for self help group women, in order to activate their group activities, to take up a drive to include all eligible women as members of SHGs, to update the group wise data in order to strengthen the activities of UCD wing.
Somesh Kumar informed that verification of certificates of the shortlisted candidates for personal fitness trainers will be conducted from 10am to 5pm in Panwar hall, GHMC Head Office on January 18, in order to send them to RAXA academy, Anantapur for 45 days training.
He further informed that 496 women candidates had registered for the cab driving out of which 482 do not have driving license and they need to be helped in the process.
All Zonal Commissioners, DPOs of UCD and Executive Engineers participated in the meeting. (INN)
