GHMC Budget Pegged At Rs 6,983.63 Crore
The council also passed a unanimous resolution opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and became the first civic body to do so in the country.

The general body of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Saturday approved its annual budget.
The budget is pegged at Rs 6,983.63 crore.
Of that, the corporation allocated Rs 1,593.64 crore for the construction of double bedroom houses and roads in its limits.
Mayor Bonthu Rammohan chaired the meeting of the council.
The council also passed a unanimous resolution opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) of the union government, and became the first civic body to do so in the entire country.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin introduced the resolution opposing the CAA. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Rammohan said that the Chief Minister was a classic example of a secular leader in the country. He reminded the council that the CM had already made an announcement that the state government would pass a similar resolution in the Assembly opposing the act, and said that the council had decided to pass the resolution by drawing inspiration from the state government. The resolution was unanimously passed by the council later.
The council also decided to constitute a committee to look into the fines imposed on building waste.
MPs A Revanth Reddy and Ranjith Reddy, MLCs Syed Ameenul Hassan Jafri, Mirza Riyazul Hasan Effendi and M S Prabhakar Rao, and MLAs Kaleru Venkatesh, Jaffar Hussain Meraj, Kausar Mohiuddin Ahmed Pasha Quadri and D Sudheer Reddy also took part in the meeting.
