Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today said that the government had taken a decision to conduct Vinayaka Chathurthi and Moharram festivals in a low key manner keeping in mind the spread of the coronavirus.
Talking to press persons, he said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, celebrations for these two festivals would also be allowed only in a subdued way like for Bonalu and Bakrid, and without the participation of the people in large numbers.
The government would take measures to ensure that everyone followed the coronavirus protocol including wearing masks, sanitising hands and maintaining social distance, and other related government instructions, while celebrating these festivals, the minister said.
The minister urged the people to cooperate with the government in this regard.
