The former GHMC mayor and former MLA has reportedly decided to quit the BRS and join the Congress along with his daughter-in-law and Ranga Reddy district ZP Chairperson Anitha Reddy.
The ruling BRS has received a blow in the State capital. The former mayor of Hyderabad and former MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy has reportedly decided to quit the BRS and join the Congress along with his daughter-in-law and Ranga Reddy district ZP Chairperson T Anitha Reddy.
Krishna Reddy took the decision to quit the BRS and join the grand old party following his meeting with AICC State in-charge Manikrao Thakre and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy.
Teegala started his career with the TDP, and worked as the GHMC mayor and then as HUDA Chairman. He contested as the TDP candidate from the newly constituted Maheswaram Assembly constituency in the year 2009 and lost at the hands of Sabitha Indra Reddy. However, he won the same seat as the TDP candidate in the 2014 Assembly elections by defeating Congress candidate Malreddy Ranga Reddy. Later, he joined the BRS and lost the Assembly elections from the same Maheshwaram Assembly constituency to his old rival and the present State education minister Sabitha Indra Reddy in 2018.
The daughter-in-law of Krishna Reddy, Anitha Reddy, won as ZPTC from Maheswaram mandal and became the Ranga Reddy district ZP Chairperson.
Krishna Reddy has been expressing his displeasure over the "negligent" attitude of the party high command towards him for the past some time.
