Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender was injured when his car rammed a road divider at Edulaguttupalli under the Manakondur mandal of the Karimnagar district on Saturday evening.
According to information received, while the minister was returning to Karimnagar from Huzurabad, his car hit a road divider while trying to overtake a lorry, and turned turtle.
The accident occurred 12km away from Karimnagar.
The minister is stated to be out of danger, and is recuperating at the Apollo Reach hospital in Karimnagar.
Immediately after the mishap, Rajendar was rushed to the hospital in a 108 van.
As his car is bullet-proof, Rajendar escaped with simple injuries though the vehicle somersaulted five times. The minister's PA Mukunda Reddy, gunman and car driver suffered more serious injuries.
The doctors at the hospital suspect that the minister might have suffered a minor fracture in his leg.
Upon knowing of the incident, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao rang up Rajender and enquired about his health and well-being.
KCR directed the officials of the CMO and hospital to offer the best health services to the injured.
MLA Gangula Kamalakar, district Collector Neetu Prasad, Karimnagar MP Vinod Kumar and others also rushed to the hospital and consoled the minister. (NSS)
