Several cases have been registered against TPCC chief Revanth Reddy at several police stations for making derogatory remarks against the Mahabubnagar district police.
A case has been registered against Reddy under Cr No 184/2023, u/s 153, 504, 505 (2) and 506 of the IPC, at the Bhootpur police station, and another case has been registered under Cr No 499/2023, u/s 153, 504, 505(2) and 506 of the IPC at the Jadcherla police station.
On August 14, some leaders from the Mahabubnagar district joined the Congress at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy made severe comments against the Mahabubnagar district police. He allegedly said that he would strip each one of them and beat them up after coming to power. He also reportedly said that he was writing the names of some policemen in his diary.
Meanwhile, associations of police officers of the respective districts have strongly condemned Revanth Reddy's comments. "Whichever government comes to power, we will work in accordance with the law and the judiciary," the association leaders said. They said that they were not afraid of anyone's threats, and that political leaders should stop criticising the police system.
