Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy described the first half of the TRS government's term as a complete disappointment and a setback for Telangana.
Addressing a press conference along with other senior leaders at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Reddy said that the Congress granted Statehood for Telangana to fulfill people's aspirations and bring them prosperity. However, with its mis-administration and mis-governance, the TRS pushed Telangana backwards by several decades.
He claimed that no section of the society was happy with the State government's performance, and added that it had failed to fulfill its promise made to the people in the 2014 General Elections.
The TPCC chief alleged that the TRS government had pushed Telangana into a debt-trap with its economic mismanagement. He slammed the State government for not clearing the dues of the Crop Loan Waiver scheme, Fee Reimbursement, Indiramma Housing scheme and other welfare schemes.
The Congress leader claimed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to identify and address the problems and instead focused on glorifying his own image with the Rs. 300 crore Pragati Bhavan.
Reddy said that the Congress would launch an agitation on December 20, addressing the aforementioned issues.
