Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday sought the cooperation of private companies in the state to provide jobs to unemployed youth.
Addressing the first meeting of Rajiv Education And Employment Mission at Jubilee Hall, the Chief Minister appealed to industrialists to provide jobs to unemployed youth based on their skills and educational qualifications.
He said that companies, in their recruitment drives, must give top priority to unemployed youth.
He also said that the government is making efforts to provide one lakh jobs, in both the public and the private sectors, by Dec 2011.
Th Chief Minister said that the government has proposed to hand over the appointment orders to unemployed youth through Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at a program.
He said that the Confederation Of Indian Industry, in a report, has pointed that nearly 7 lakh job opportunities emerge every year in AP.
"I am requesting the private sector to provide at least 5 lakh of these jobs to the youth in the state," he said.
Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the government would provide training programs to youth in respective districts to hone their skills. He appealed to industrialists to provide accommodation to newly-joined youth.
FAPCCI (Federation Of Andhra Pradesh Chambers Of Commerce And Industry) members appealed to the CM to provide infrastructure facilities to spread their units in 1,100 mandals across the state to prevent traffic congestion in the state capital and for industrial development of all districts.
Responding positively to their appeal, Kiran Kumar Reddy assured them that he would take steps towards the same after convening a meeting with officials concerned.
Major Industries Minister J Geetha Reddy, Women's Welfare Minister V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister M Mahender Reddy, Tourism Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar and senior officials from both public and private sectors participated in the program.
