Endowments Minister C Ramachandraiah offered to quit politics if it is proved that erstwhile Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi had any links with Bhavani Islands.
Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Ramachandraiah denied the allegations leveled by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu stating that Infrastructure Minister Ganta Srinivas Reddy had gifted Bhavani Islands to Chiranjeevi in exchange for a ministerial post.
Challenging Naidu for an open debate on the issue, Ramachandraiah said that the TDP chief must swear in the Durgamma Temple before starting the debate. He maintained tha Chiranjeevi was in no way connected to Bhavani Islands.
Ramachandraiah questioned the land allotments made by Chandrababu Naidu during his tenure as the Chief Minister, to film producers Raghavendra Rao and D Rama Naidu.
He also objected to the allotments made for the construction of Prasad IMAX at Hussain Sagar. He said the land was originally meant for the construction of a building for Dalits.
The minister alleged that C M Ramesh, who is allegedly involved in the Emaar scam, had acted as Naidu's benami. He said the truth would come out if a detailed probe on the issue was carried out. (INN)
