On the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu extended greetings to all media persons and reflected on the need for quality journalism.
Reporting had changed thanks to the fast-changing technological landscape we were in and the advent of digital communication, the Chief Minister said.
"This calls for introspection and reflection on the part of media organizations," he added.
Recalling the precarious situations journalists faced on the job, the Chief Minister said that journalists put their lives at risk to get stories.
"You do the difficult work of telling some of the most harrowing stories on Earth. Your coverage can move the hands of presidents and prime ministers, and can call the world's attention to the most pressing humanitarian issues," he added.
The Chief Minister added, "Your stories can also put a state and a city on a global platform. And I believe you will do that in highlighting the growth story of sunrise Andhra Pradesh." (INN)
