Handloom and Textiles Minister Dr. P Shankar Rao on Saturday alleged that the Central Bureau Of Investigation's (CBI) probes into various scams in AP have been going on the wrong track.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party Office, the minister said that the CBI has been targeting IAS officials while ignoring the politicians who were actually involved in the scams.
Terming the IAS officials as "small fish", he said that the CBI ought to focus its probe on the "big fish" who had masterminded the scams.
Shankar Rao said that IAS officials simply implement the decision taken at higher levels by the Chief Minister and his ministers. Therefore, the involvement of ministers in the scams should be probed, he opined.
The minister also alleged that the CBI has been harassing certain IAS officials in the name of investigation. He demanded that the CBI register cases against the real culprits, including the former ministers who had played an active role in the scandals. (INN)
