A Special Investigation Team has been formed to look into the
shootout that took place on Friday in the Old City of Hyderabad.
Commissioner A K Khan told the media that after handing over the case to SIT, the police have formed a special team comprising various investigating agencies for speedy probe into the incident. The probe into the suspected terror attack has already started, according to Khan.
SIT is the probe wing of the city police.
Meanwhile, the police have also announced a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh for those who provide information on the attackers, one of whom is suspected to be a terror operative. According to a statement released by A K Khan, "Any person(s) who provides information that leads to detection and apprehension of the accused will be rewarded with Rs. 5 lakh by police immediately. The details of those who give information will be treated as top secret and will never be shared with anyone."
According to a CD recovered at the shootout site, the Tehreek Galba-e-Islam, a radical Islamic organization, is responsible for the attack.
