BRS Borrowed Rs 97,499 Crore For Kaleswaram: Revanth Reddy
The Telangana Chief Minister said that the previous BRS government had set up a special corporation for the Kaleswaram project and borrowed Rs 97,499 crore.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the previous BRS government had set up a special corporation for the Kaleswaram project and borrowed Rs 97,499 crore.
Participating in a short discussion on "Telangana State Finances - White Paper" in the Assembly today, the Chief Minister accused former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao of "lying" about the Kaleswaram project in the Assembly, and disclosed the details of the debts incurred by the previous KCR government in the matter of irrigation projects.
"At the time of approaching the banks for loans, the BRS government falsely promised the banks that the waters from the project would be supplied to farmers, industries and residents for money," the Chief Minister said.
He also alleged that the BRS government had taken loans in the name of the project, but didn't utilise them for that purpose.
The CM said that the main purpose of releasing a white paper on the State's economy was to put the facts before the people and to disclose the actual financial position of the State.
