Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya assured that the BJP Government at the Centre would take all measures to ensure the development of minorities in the country.
Speaking at a felicitation function organised by the BJP's Minority Morcha on Sunday, Dattatreya reiterated that the BJP did not discriminate between people on the basis of religion, and therefore, it would take all required steps to ensure social, economic and educational development of the minorities.
He advised the economically and educationally backward minorities to take advantage of all the Central schemes and participate in the process of development.
The felicitation function was attended by State BJP President G Kishan Reddy, State Minority Morcha president Haneef Ali, Minority Morcha National Vice-President S S Laiq Ali, National Executive Member Habeeb Mohammed Altaqab and other leaders.
The meeting began with the 'bhajan' of famous ghazal singer Vittal Rao. Later, the Minority Morcha leaders requested the Centre to confer the Padmasri Award upon Vittal Rao. (INN)
