Telangana BJP chief K Laxman on Saturday said that his party was extending complete support to the ongoing indefinite strike by the TSRTC employees.
He warned the State government that the BJP would lay siege to Pragathi Bhavan if Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao didn't solve the problems of the employees.
He made these remarks while addressing a gathering of TSRTC employees and BJP workers at Bus Bhavan in Musheerabad after they laid siege to it.
Laxman said that the BJP was condemning the act of the CM removing nearly 50,000 TSRTC employees with the stroke of a pen. He said that the employees and BJP workers were dismissing the State government for dismissing the RTC staff.
Citing the statement of the CM that the employees were getting Rs. 50,000 as salary, he dared the CM to show a single employee who was drawing such a salary, and showed the pay slips of the employees.
Meanwhile, the police took several leaders of the TSRTC Joint Action Committee into preventive custody when they staged the sit-in along with BJP activists.
Among those detained were JAC leaders E Ashwathama Reddy and K Raji Reddy.
K Laxman himself too was injured. When the police tried to take him into custody as he was leading a protest rally from the RTC Kalyana Mantapam to Bus Bhavan, he fell and sustained an injury on his right eye.
Meanwhile, the employees of the corporation held silent protest programs along with their family members at all the bus depots of the State.
