The state government, on Tuesday, formally announced the appointment of Aravinda Rao as the state's new Director General of Police. The government also reshuffled some senior police officials, to ensure the smooth conduct of administrative business in the state.
Provisions and Logistics Director General Umesh Kumar was appointed Director General of Anti Corruption Bureau, in Aravinda Rao's place.
The government also gave the nod for the voluntary retirement plea of controversial former DGP and present head of Godavari Valley Development Authority, S S P Yadav. T Chatterjee has been named the successor to S S P Yadav.
A Shivshankar has been named the new Road Safety Authority Chairman.
The government also gave the nod for the promotions of 14 Circle Inspectors in the city to the posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police, and transferred 8 DSPs in the state.
