The tenure of the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Neelam Sawhney, has been extended by three months.
Her tenure expired on May 31. The Centre has now extended it till the end of September.
The Centre issued orders in this regard upon a request made by the Y S Jaganmohan Reddy government, it has been learnt.
Since the coronavirus lockdown is prevailing, the Jagan government sought an extension of Sawhney's tenure by six months. The Centre accepted the request only partially and gave orders for only a 3-month extension, according to information received.
