The founder of the End Now Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works on awareness on digital safety, was given the prestigious award in New Delhi.
Anil Rachamalla, founder, End Now Foundation, one of the country's first non-profit and non-funded organisations that work on awareness on digital safety, was conferred with the prestigious Karmaveer Chakra Award (a gold medal) and the Rex Karmaveer Global Fellowship at the Rex Conclave in New Delhi.
He is the only gold medal awardee from the Telugu States.
Rachamalla received the award for his innovative advocacy on digital safety, aimed at better Internet ethics and digital wellness to ensure responsible online behavioral patterns amongst women, children and adolescents.
The Karmaveer Chakra Award is a national people's award for citizen social action and a global civilian honor instituted by the International Confederation of NGOs (iCONGO) in partnership with the United Nations. The award is a tribute to the Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India, who had offered to be the ambassador for the awards.
The awardees are all dubbed Noble laureates.
The End Now Foundation works with the Telangana Police, the Women Safety Wing, the Ministry of IT, Saakshara Bharat, DSCI, and the Cyber Security Center of Excellence Telangana.
"Our Team works on cyber awareness along with the cyber crime police, cyber lawyers and psychiatric doctors, and provides free awareness on a variety of related topics of cyber safety. It also advises and guides teens / the youth on right way to behave on and use the Internet," said Rachamalla.
