AP To Provide Smartphones To Poor Students
The AP government will give the poor social welfare residential society students of the state free smartphones to enable them to continue their education online.
The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to give the poor social welfare residential society students of the state free smartphones to enable them to continue their education online.
The state government said that it had taken the decision to ensure that the poor students did not lag behind in education.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the social welfare residential schools society chaired by the Social Welfare Minister of the state P Viswaroop.
The meeting also took several other important decisions.
The government will provide the smartphones to students studying in the ninth and tenth classes, and those studying the intermediate course.
The smartphones will be worth Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000.
Around 40% of the students of the society already have smartphones, and the remaining will now get smartphones.
