As clashes between the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime continue, YSRCP MLA R K Roja today came down heavily on State Election Commission (SEC) head Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, and alleged that was behaving "like an insane person".
The MLA also alleged that Kumar was stopping the unanimous elections of local body representatives in several villages in the Guntur and Chittoor districts despite the fact that he had appointed the officials of the two districts himself.
She said that the commissioner had issued orders to not declare the results of the unanimous elections in the two regions till all the complaints lodged on the issue had been dealt with.
Raja also said that Kumar had asked the district Collectors to send reports on the complaints, and added that the officials had then reported that they found that a massive number of unanimous elections had successfully taken place in the Guntur and Chittoor districts before.
She also praised efforts made by all the Collectors and SPs for the successful organisation of the same.
Trouble over the upcoming Panchayat elections has been brewing in AP for some time now. Just last month, AP SEC Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy
clashed publicly on the issue.
