AP CM's Action Plan For Irrigation Projects
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu vowed to complete the Polavaram and other projects in quick time, in order to maintain the State's high GSDP growth.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today praised the State for achieving a Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth rate of 10.99% for 2015-2016, the highest among all States, and proposed an action plan to keep maintaining its steady climb.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, he said that as per the RBI's report of 2015-2016, the GSDP growth rate of Andhra Pradesh had spiked and reached double digits. And of the USD 954 billion that was invested across the nation, 15.8% was in Andhra Pradesh alone.
The Chief Minister also presented his plan to complete the several projects in the State, and prioritized the Polavaram project. "The State government aims at completing Polavaram by 2018 with the help of the Centre," he said.
"Apart from the completion of the Polavaram project, the AP government has also included the provision of 50,000 cusecs of the Godavari river water to Rayalaseema in the action plan. The State government will also take measures to interlink Krishna, Godavari, Penna, Vamsadhara and Nagavali under the water project network. We have urged the Centre to fulfill all its promises to which it responded positively," Naidu said.
