About 7,000 people from Telangana would go on the Haj pilgrimage this time, and special chartered flights would be operated for them from June 5, Minister for Minority Welfare Koppula Eshwar said today.
The minister held a meeting with officials from various departments at the Haj Committee building and reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the Telangana government had made special arrangements for the pilgrimage, and that all the necessary facilities, including diases, seating arrangements, buses, luggage screening and check-in counters for the pilgrims were arranged at the Haj House.
He said that Vistara Airlines was operating special flights for the Haj in coordination with the State government, and that online and manual booking facilities were both provided for pilgrims.
The minister appealed to the pilgrims to avail themselves of the facilities being provided by the State government for the tour.
MLA Jaffar Hussain, Haj Commitee Chairman Mohammad Salim, Government Advisor to the minorities department A K Khan, State Waqf Board Chairman Mohd Masiullah Khan and others were present.
