Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Sachin Pilot told the Rajya Sabha that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had not recommended cancellation of 2G spectrum licenses of 85 companies.
He said that the TRAI had recently recommended cancellation of 38 Unified Access Service (UAS) Licenses.
Pilot said that Unified Access Services of Aircel Ltd., Dishnet Wireless Ltd., Etisalat DB Telecom Pvt. Ltd., Loop Telecom Ltd., Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd., Unitech Wireless (East) Pvt. Ltd., Unitech Wireless (North) Pvt. Ltd., and Unitech Wireless (West) Pvt. Ltd. had been cancelled.
The MoS added that the TRAI had also recommended for cancellation of 31 UAS licenses after legal examination.
The report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) on "Issue of Licences and Allocation of 2G Spectrum by the Department of Telecommunications" has been tabled in the Parliament on 16th November, 2010. As per the CAG report, the following companies were ineligible on the date of their respective applications for grant of UAS licences:

As per the information received from the companies, M/s. Allianz Infratech (P) Ltd. has merged with M/s. Etisalat DB Telecom Pvt. Ltd., and companies mentioned at serial number 4 to 9, and 11, have merged with M/s. Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Pvt. Ltd., as per the orders of the Hon'ble High court(s).
Unified Access Services (UAS) licences have been granted in terms of the UAS guidelines dated 14th December, 2005.
Government has decided to issue show cause notices to the errant companies after due examination.
