The Samaikyandhra Students' Joint Action Committee has decided to organize a massive convention in Visakhapatnam district on 1November, the AP State Formation Day, to discuss the importance of an integrated state.
Seemandhra Students' JAC convenors N Samuel and Adari Kishore Kumar said that the convention would be not affiliated to any political party, and that people from all walks of life will participate in it.
They said that the convention would focus on the importance of an integrated state for the overall progress and development of all sectors of life.
The convention would also discuss an action plan to oppose the carving out of a Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh.
The student leaders said that the convention would mount pressure on the Centre to take a decision favourable to an integrated state and to put an end to uncertainty in the state. (INN)
