The much-awaited results of the exit polls were released after the last round of polling for the 2019 general elections was complete today, and the TRS, as anticipated, is expected to win most of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
The poll of exit polls predicts 12 Lok Sabha seats for Telangana's ruling party, with the Congress and the BJP winning 2 seats each, and the MIM retaining its bastion, Hyderabad.
That is still a relief for the Opposition since the original expectation was that the TRS would win 16 of the 17 seats (the MIM is an ally of the TRS).
The following are the predictions for the TRS by the various exit polls:
India Today - My Axis: 10-12 CNN News 18 - IPSOS: 12-14 Times Now - VMR: 13 Republic - C Voter: 14 Republic - Jan Ki Baat: 14-15 News24 - Chanakya: 14-16
The NDA is expected to win over 300 of the 544 seats, dealing a big blow to KCR who harboured dreams of cobbling together a front of non-BJP, non-Congress parties to form a government at the Centre (KCR was confident the NDA could not retain power).
