Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today expressed anguish at the Congress moving the courts against the municipal elections.
Speaking at a party program at Yadadri Bhongir to prepare for the elections, Reddy slammed the Congress' "tactics to halt" the upcoming elections, and pointed out that the government was conducting the elections upon the courts' directions.
"The frustrated Opposition parties are moving the courts to stall the elections now," he said. "Sensing utter defeat, the Congress is finding lame excuses to stall the municipal polls."
He also said that the cases filed by the Congress and the BJP to stall the elections were false.
The TRS had set a record by winning 32 ZP chief posts in the past, he claimed. The people were happy with the "historic" welfare and developmental programs of the party, and would support it in the municipal elections again, he said.
He also exhorted the party rank and file to address the people's issues at once and take the schemes to their doorsteps.
