Trains To Vizag Likely To Be Restored By Tuesday

For the benefit of its passengers, the SCR is operating 2 special trains towards Visakhapatnam - one each from Hyderabad and Tirupati - today.
Hyderabad | 13th October 2014
In view of breaches to the railway tracks near Elamanchili on the Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam rail route in the Vijayawada division of the South Central Railway, the train services to and from Visakhapatnam got affected today.

As of now, train services to Visakhapatnam are likely to be restored by Tuesday.

However, long distance Express trains towards Howrah are being operated on a diverted route - via Vijayawada-Kazipet-Balharshah-Nagpur-Jharsiguda-Kharagpur.

Except for the section from Samalkot to Visakhapatnam, train services have been running continuously on all routes on the SCR in spite of Cyclone Hudhud in the last few days.

For the benefit of its passengers, the SCR is operating 2 special trains towards Visakhapatnam - one each from Hyderabad and Tirupati - today. A special train from Hyderabad (departure time 5:15pm) to Kakinada is also being provided, with stoppages at stations as per the schedule of the Godavari Express.

Another special train from Tirupati (departure time 8:50pm) to Tuni is being operated with stoppages at stations as per the schedule of the Tirumala Express.

These 2 special trains are aimed at clearing stranded passengers, if any, at stations on the route to destinations situated up to Tuni in the Visakhapatnam route.

Current information on the running of train services is being widely disseminated through the media and also through special helpline numbers set up at 22 railway stations of the SCR.
