The top Maoist leader Ganapati alias Muppala Laxman Rao is likely to surrender before the police in the days to come.
Reports related to his possible surrender are circulating in the entire Karimnagar district.
According to highly placed sources, Ganapati is negotiating his surrender with the state and the central governments through his close friends and family members.
He has reportedly made the decision keeping in view his old age (Ganapati is 74 now).
He is also said to be suffering from several health problems like knee pain and diabetes.
A native of Beerpur village from Jagtial district, Ganapati rose to become the Secretary of the Central Committee of the banned organisation after the merger of the MPC and the Naxalites.
He quit from the post in 2018 due to his ill-health.
It is also being reported that four more Maoist leaders are also likely to surrender along with Ganapati.
