The Telangana High Court today posted the case relating to the privatization of 5,100 bus routes, to next Monday, November 18.
Hearing the case against the bus routes' privatization filed by Prof P L Vishweshwar Rao, the court sought to know why the proceedings of the cabinet meeting where the decision to privatize the 5,100 bus routes was taken, were not made public.
The government counsel Attorney General Prasad said that the cabinet decision would be made public only after the release of the related orders from the State government. He submitted the cabinet proceedings and decision to the court in a sealed cover.
When his turn came, the petitioner argued that bus routes' privatization would cost many employees their jobs.
After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court said that the Centre's permission was required for the bus routes' privatisation. The stay on the privatization would continue, it added, and posted the matter for November 18.
It also said that the RTC workers' salaries case would be heard on November 19.
