Seemandhra Leaders Vow To Fight Unitedly

Leaders belonging to the TDP, Congress and CPI (M) took part in a meeting organised by the APNGOs Association today, and agreed to cast political differences aside.
Hyderabad | 21st December 2013
The leaders of different political parties and pro-united Andhra Pradesh organisations on Saturday resolved to fight unitedly to stop the proposed bifurcation of the State.

Leaders belonging to different parties took part in a meeting organised by the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association. TDP MPs Y S Choudhary, K Narayana and C M Ramesh, and MLAs P Keshav and K E Prabhakar; Congress State Minister S Sailajanath and MP Sabbam Hari; CPI (M) leaders Veeraiah and Y Venkateshwara Rao; and other leaders participated in the meeting held at the APNGOs Bhavan here.

Speaking to mediapersons later, APNGOs chief Ashok Babu said that all the leaders from the Seemandhra region, cutting across party lines, have agreed to launch a joint struggle to keep the State united.

He said that the Seemandhra leaders would soon meet the President of India seeking his intervention in stopping the bifurcation.

He added that all 158 MLAs from the Seemandhra region would oppose the Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly.

Minister Sailajanath said that the situation in the State was highly fragile and that the leaders should work together by keeping aside political flags and agendas.

He said that unity of the leaders was the only solution to stop the State's division.

TDP MLA Keshav said that the Telangana Bill would be strongly opposed and defeated in the Legislative Assembly. (INN)
