Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today lashed out at the state government for allotting his party only six minutes in the house to speak on public problems.
He alleged that the state government was muzzling the voice of the opposition political parties in the house.
Speaking to media persons at Gun Park along with his party MLAs after the adjournment of the house for the day, he said that the Congress actually had 19 MLAs, and that some of the MLAs had been inducted into the ruling party, and the remaining strength used to calculate the time to be given to the party to speak in the house.
He expressed his anger over this allocation of time on the basis of the current strength of the party instead of the old strength, and termed the act of the government as cruel.
Later, Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy demanded that the state government restore the media point on the Assembly premises.
He said that the removal of the media point was undemocratic, and that such incidents had never happened in the history of the country.
He demanded that the Speaker of the house take steps for the restoration of the media point.
