Congress Wants Names Of Donors For KCR's Yagam
The Telangana Congress asked the CM to disclose the names of the people who had donated the money for his recent yagam and publicity drive for the TRS.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Saturday asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to disclose the names of the people who had donated the money for his Ayutha Maha Chandi Yagam and the recent publicity drive for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Shabbir Ali said that the Chief Minister, who had claimed to have received donations to the tune of Rs 7.5 crores for the Yagam, must reveal the entire list of donors.
KCR should also reveal the list of people who had provided the funds for the massive publicity campaign in Greater Hyderabad by engaging thousands of hoardings and flexes, he added.
"KCR must clarify whether he accepted those donations in the capacity of Chief Minister or as the TRS President. He can also furnish details before the Income Tax Department. We will get a copy by filing an RTI application," Shabbir Ali said.
He also demanded that MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi reveal the sources of money that enabled his Party to take up its publicity campaign.
"MIM leaders collect donations to organize the public meeting Jalsa-e-Rahmatul Lil Aalameen on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) every year. They are using these crores of rupees on their own publicity," he said.
He also accused KCR and Asaduddin Owaisi of hurting the sentiments of the Muslims through one of their hoardings. They should both apologise for this act, he demanded.
