Telangana State BJP leaders, including party floor leader G Kishan Reddy, demanded that the Union government initiate action against the MIM for allegedly helping terrorist activities in the city.
Headed by Kishan Reddy, a delegation comprising MLAs N V S S Prabhakar and Nagam Janardhan Reddy, former MLA Baddam Balreddy and others met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and complained against MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for stating that the latter's Party would provide legal aid to suspected ISIS module members arrested recently by the NIA in the city.
After the meeting with Singh, Kishan Reddy told the media that the Union Home Minister assured them that he would call for a report from the State government as well as from the Governor on the issue.
Reddy alleged that the MIM was encouraging terrorist activities and that the city had become a haven for terrorists, and said that it was improper for Owaisi to offer legal aid to the arrested alleged ISIS members.
He said that Owaisi should be debarred from the Parliament for his "anti-national" statement.
He also asked why the TRS government was maintaining silence over the sensitive issue.
"The TRS government should make its stance on the MIM clear," Reddy demanded.
