The Telangana High Court today said that the stay granted by it on the demolition of the existing Secretariat buildings would continue until a final decision was taken by the state cabinet on the architectural designs, plans and budget estimates of the proposed new Secretariat complex.
A division bench also directed the state government to not disturb the existing structures until further orders of the court.
It also wondered why the state government was in a hurry to demolish the existing structures when it (the government) had not yet taken a final decision on structural plans and designs of the proposed new Secretariat buildings.
The court made these remarks while dealing with a batch of PILs filed against demolition of existing Secretariat buildings by different persons, including Congress MP A Revanth Reddy.
